Esquimalt Beach metal print by Lynne Haines.   Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description

Painted from a photo I took on Vancouver Island near Sooke or Esquimalt in 2004. The early Spring weather didn't lend itself to color and sparkle. Instead I found the strange aubergine glow of this day's sunset fit my mood better. The lone bird on the shore seemed to be as reluctant to leave the beach as I was after a lovely day spent by the sea. I like the almost Edwardian feel to this painting. It puts me in mind of Edgar Allen Poe as well. I like it. Lynne Haines

I began working as an artist at the age of two. Unable to resist the siren's call of a large canvas. The newly papered dining room was just screaming for a rainbow band of color about three feet up the wall. So I opened my box of crayons, pressed their tips firmly against the unblemished wallpaper and ran around the room as fast as I could, as many times as I could. I sensed that my work may not be appreciated. It wasn't. But it looked great! It took some time before my parents recognized my talent but I kept working with every medium available. Eventually they took me to study under two local artists recognized as some of Victoria BC's finest painters. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. My work won First Prizes in the...
